M'inx was born of a desire to see moko normalized and to foster a healthy identity around tā moko for teenage māori girls. She is also one response to a lack of role models for our young girls, both in literature and in visual media. M'inx is also about my own experiences growing up and will hopefully encourage other people to vigorously discuss aspects of tā moko and māori identity today.
